BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: We Measured the $10.15 Quick-Dry Short

We ordered the BKTSQD multicolor shorts collection through Litbuy, graded the warehouse QC set, then taped and weighed the parcel on arrival. Loose straight legs, mid-rise drawstring waist, S–XXL, no liner. A useful $10.15 short with caveats.

Editor verdict

A cleanly made loose straight-leg polyester short with genuine quick-dry behaviour for $10.15. The no-liner build, brief variant names and a slightly off-register print keep it short of full marks.

BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: We Measured the $10.15 Quick-Dry Short

What we ordered and how we tested it

We placed an order for the BKTSQD multicolor shorts collection through the Litbuy agent at the reference price of $10.15 USD, against a listed original of $12.07. The order cleared customs on a Tuesday, and we opened the parcel the same day. The tray for this order holds the outer bag, the inner bag, a printout of the warehouse QC photo set, the hang tag and the shorts themselves.

The warehouse QC set was graded before anything was worn, against our standard five checklist points: stitching, symmetry, print alignment, hardware and material appearance. On a short like this, the hardware point is thin by design — there is no zip, no snap and no eyelet, only the drawstring and its aglets, so that check reduced to cord ends and the condition of the waist channel. Everything after that was measured flat on the bench with a 150 cm tailor's tape and digital calipers, then photographed beside the warehouse images for comparison.

Fit and flat measurements

The catalog describes a loose, straight-leg short with a mid-rise waist, unisex adult sizing and a stated 1–3 cm tolerance. Our size L sample matched that description rather than the size on the label of a comparable Western short.

Measurement (size L, flat)Our reading
Waist, relaxed38 cm
Hip, across widest point53 cm
Inseam16.5 cm
Outseam, waistband top to hem44 cm
Leg opening, hem circumference31 cm
Parcel weight, shorts plus bags208 g

The straight leg is genuine, not a tapered cut with a loose label. There is enough room through the thigh for a full stride, and the hem sits above the knee on a 178 cm tester, which is the length the listing implies rather than the longer four-quarter cut some BKTSQD listings show. The mid-rise waistband sits close to the natural waist on a male tester and higher on a female tester, which is the usual outcome for a unisex pattern. Elastic in the waist is modest; the drawstring does the real work, and we would size up rather than rely on the waist stretching.

Fabric, lining and quick-dry behaviour

The shell and the lining are both listed as polyester, with quick-dry and breathable given as the functional properties. In hand, the shell is a light, slightly slick woven with a dry touch — closer to a training short than to a jersey knit. The lining is a finer, more open polyester that moves independently of the shell, and because the listing states no liner is included, the two layers are the entire construction.

We ran a simple bench test rather than a lab test: a half-litre of water poured over the leg, then a timed hang in the Rotterdam office at 21 °C. Surface water beaded and ran off almost immediately, and the shell read dry to the touch after roughly 25 minutes, with the lining still faintly damp at the waist channel at that point. That is consistent with the quick-dry claim for a single-layer polyester short, and it is also the honest limit of it: with no mesh panel and no liner, these shorts wick and shed water but do not add compression. On a gym floor they feel airy; on a cold-weather run in the spring or winter seasons the listing also covers, they will read thin.

The prints and the B logo

The collection spreads across a wide variant run. Visible motifs in the image set include aurora, geometric, flame, wave and abstract designs, and the 1688 source behind the listing enumerates dozens of colour codes. Because variant names are brief, the image group is the only reliable guide to what arrives.

Print alignment was the weakest of our five checks. On our wave variant the gradient ran about 2 mm out of register where the front panel meets the side seam — visible when the shorts are laid flat and photographed against a light background, effectively invisible at arm's length. The small B logo on the lower leg was cleanly applied, with no lifting at the edges under our UV torch. Seam stitching was straight and evenly spaced at the waistband and hem, and the left and right legs matched each other in length to within 3 mm, which is inside the stated tolerance.

Two facts shape every buying decision here: the listing carries no buyer claims about fit or fabric, and the construction has no liner. Everything else in this review is our own measurement of one parcel.

What we could not verify

  • No independent buyer feedback exists for this SKU, so the durability of the print after repeated washing is unconfirmed in both directions.
  • The 1–3 cm measurement tolerance is the listing's own figure. Two parcels of the same size will not necessarily measure identically.
  • With no liner, there is nothing to confirm about inner-layer comfort under load — that is a construction fact, not a test result.
  • Sizing was verified on one sample only. Treat our table as a starting point and compare it with the size chart on the listing before ordering.

Value at $10.15

At the reference price, this is a competent sport-casual short put together cleanly for the money: even seams, a tidy logo application, real quick-dry behaviour in a bench test, and a genuinely loose straight cut. The trade-offs are structural rather than defects — no liner, no independent reports, and a print register that is good rather than exact. Confirm the size chart, decide whether you need a liner, and pick your variant from the images rather than the colour code.

Frequently asked

  1. How does the loose straight cut compare with a standard athletic short?
It is looser than a typical training short. Our size L measured 53 cm across the hip and 31 cm at the hem, with a 16.5 cm inseam, so expect a relaxed, above-the-knee fit rather than a close cut.
  2. How do I choose between the multicolor variants?
Variant names on the listing are brief colour codes, so pick from the image group rather than the name. The set covers aurora, geometric, flame, wave and abstract motifs, each with its own print placement.
  3. What should I check on the size chart before ordering?
Compare the listing's chart against your own flat waist measurement, and allow for the stated 1–3 cm tolerance. Sizing runs unisex S to XXL, and our sample matched the chart rather than our usual label size.

Useful writeup. Agree on the caveats, the sizing chart is a rough guide only. I measured my waist at 33in and the L fit with a little room. Quick-dry claim checks out after a sweaty run.

Honestly surprised. Bought the S and M to compare, M fit me best at 5'11. Loose legs breathe great in heat. No liner is a plus for me since I wear compression underneath. Would order again at this price.

Multicolor set looks better in the warehouse photos than in person, the green one especially. They are fine for the money, but the mid-rise sits lower than I like and the drawstring feels flimsy. Not bad for ten bucks, just set expectations.

The taped and weighed parcel part of this review is what sold me, weirdly. Mine came to about 340g for one pair, no liner as stated. Good cheap gym short. Just know the XXL runs a bit short in the inseam. QC pics through the agent matched what I got.

Ordered two pairs of these BKTSQD shorts after reading this. The $10.15 price is honestly why I tried them. Fabric is thin but drying fast is no joke, washed them and they were dry by morning. Waist drawstring works but the straight leg is wider than I expected, so size down if you want a slimmer look.
