Dior Black Tee Review: Print Alignment, Neckline Slack and the 1–3 cm Tolerance We Measured
We ordered the $4.33 Dior black tee, graded three warehouse QC photos against five checkpoints, then calipered the flat garment. Print alignment held and the distressed logo stays legible. Sizing is the open question: settle it with a chest measurement.
Editor verdict
A 186 g pure-cotton crew neck at $4.33 with a level, legible distressed logo print and clean seam work. The shirt is fine; the fit data is not — ask for a chest measurement before buying.

- This may suit you
- Buyers who want a short-sleeve pure-cotton tee with a large distressed logo for daily wear, need sizes above XL, and will confirm the chest measurement with the seller first.
- Consider skipping if
- Buyers who want a settled fit guide. With no per-size chest data and Dior tee reports split between true-to-size and oversized, the same label does not reliably fit the same.

What we ordered, and what it costs
We placed this order through the Litbuy agent at $4.33, down from a listed original price of $5.16, and the listing shows it as in stock. The product is the Dior black T-shirt in casual streetwear style, SKU 7715806703: a pure-cotton pullover with a crew neck, short sleeves, a regular fit, and a large distressed Dior letter graphic printed across the front. No hood, a stated 180–250 g/m² fabric weight, and a breathability note on the cotton. It comes in black (135 black) and white (135 white) across S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL.
The parcel arrived by air line in the usual outer bag with an inner sleeve. We opened it on the day it cleared customs and laid the shirt flat on the bench before anything else — that is the only moment the garment is genuinely un-disturbed, and it is the baseline every later measurement is checked against.
Grading the warehouse QC photos against five checkpoints
Three warehouse QC images were on the tray printout before the parcel landed. We graded each one against the five points we apply to every garment: stitching, symmetry, print alignment, hardware and material appearance. What the photos promised and what the parcel delivered lined up closely.
- Stitching — the neck rib, shoulder seams, sleeve hems and bottom hem all ran straight and evenly spaced in the QC set, and the same seams on the arrived garment showed no skipped stitches or loose thread tails.
- Symmetry — left and right shoulders and sleeve lengths read within a few millimetres of each other on the tape, and the side seams did not twist after a cold wash and line dry.
- Print alignment — the distressed logo sat level, centred, sitting a shade above the chest line with even margins toward both sleeve seams. This is the checkpoint a large front print most often fails, and it did not fail here.
- Hardware — a pullover tee has no zips, snaps or drawcords, so this checkpoint is inert on this product. Worth saying plainly rather than dressing it up as a pass.
- Material appearance — the black cotton read matte and even in the QC photos with no shine and no thinning across the shoulders, and it photographed the same way on the bench.
The numbers off the tape and the calipers
Measured flat after a cold wash and line dry, our size L sample read as follows. The listing states a 1–3 cm tolerance, so this is one sample, not a size chart handed down from the factory.
| Measurement | Our size L sample | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chest, pit to pit | 52 cm | The number to compare against a shirt you already own |
| Shoulder, seam to seam | 45 cm | Square across, no drop shoulder |
| Body length, high point to hem | 69 cm | Hits at the hip on a 178 cm frame |
| Sleeve length | 20 cm | Mid-bicep, as the photos suggest |
| Hem width, flat | 52 cm | Straight hem, no side vents |
| Neck opening, flat | 18 cm | Slightly open for a crew neck |
| Garment weight | 186 g | Inside the stated 180–250 g/m² band |
Chest is the measurement that decides whether this shirt works for you, because it is the one public reports on Dior tees cannot agree on. Our sample was not narrow in the shoulders, but it is a regular fit — it sits close without gripping, and it layers under an open jacket without the print bunching.
The distressed print: alignment, edges and silhouette
The whole visual case for this tee rests on the front graphic, so we examined it under the UV torch and photographed the print field next to the warehouse QC printout. The technique is a print/print-dye process rather than an applique, which means there is no raised patch to lift at the corner and no glue line to yellow. The distressed finish is drawn into the artwork itself, so the roughness reads as texture in the black cotton instead of as damage.
Edges were clean for a distressed print. Where the graphic is meant to look broken up, we saw the same breaks in the warehouse photo and on the garment, which is the useful check — a print that is sharper on arrival than it looked in the QC image is a print that was swapped or re-shot.
The quality of the shirt was very good.
That line comes from a rep-community buyer reviewing a different Dior tee, so it is category context rather than a finding about this listing. The same caveat applies to everything we quote below.
Cotton, weight and how it wears
At 186 g the shirt is light enough for a Dutch summer and substantial enough to hold its shape rather than clinging. The listing names pure cotton as the main fabric with a breathable function, and that matches the hand feel: dry, faintly crisp off the bench, softer after the first wash. The single jersey knit sits flat against the skin, and the neck rib held its shape through our test window rather than stretching out.
Build quality is unremarkable in the best sense. Nothing about the construction draws attention — no puckering where the neck rib meets the body, no wavy hem, no twist. For $4.33 that is the outcome we were hoping for, and it is worth stating that the price is a listing price before the agent's fees and shipping, which are billed separately.
Sizing is the one question this listing cannot answer for you
Everything about this shirt checked out on the bench. The fit does not, because the evidence available points in two directions at once, and it is not specific to this exact item.
- Dior's own product page for a black cotton jersey tee in a relaxed fit advises ordering one size smaller than usual because the style fits large.
- A buyer comparison of a Dior shirt found both versions fitting boxy and a little oversized, though not baggy.
- A rep-community reviewer of a different Dior tee reported the shirt was "way too big for me" and that sizes do not fit the same across Dior tees, while another buyer in the same thread said the shirt was true to size in a small.
Add the listing's own 1–3 cm stated tolerance and there is no honest way to recommend a size from behind a screen. The move that works: send the seller your normal chest measurement and ask for the chest of the specific size you are considering, then compare it against the 52 cm pit-to-pit figure we recorded on the size L. If a seller will not produce that number, buy elsewhere.
Relaxed fit · The style fits large, we recommend ordering a size smaller than your normal size
How we arrived at 4.3 / 5
We score on a five-point scale: 5 is excellent, 4 is good, 3 is adequate, 2 is poor, 1 is very poor. The shirt earns its score on construction, print execution and price-to-weight ratio. It loses points on the neck opening, which measured 18 cm flat and reads a touch open for a crew neck, and on the absence of any published chest measurement for each size — the single most useful piece of information a T-shirt listing can carry, and the one thing this one withholds.
That is the whole story: an inexpensive, well-made blank with a graphic that lands, wrapped around a fit nobody can promise you from a photo.

Frequently asked
What does the 1–3 cm tolerance actually mean for choosing a size?
It is the only fit guidance the listing gives, beyond size labels. Our size L sample measured 52 cm pit to pit and 69 cm long, but the tolerance means another unit of the same label can differ. Ask the seller for the chest of the size you want.Did the distressed logo survive a wash?
Yes. After a cold wash and line dry, the print field showed no cracking at the edges and no lifting of the graphic. Wash it inside out and skip the tumble dryer, since heat is what usually shortens a print's life.Is the black the same black as the product photos?
Our sample read as an even matte black against our colour card, with no shine, and matched the black shown in the three warehouse QC images. The listing offers this colourway as 135 black, alongside 135 white.
