Maison Margiela MM6 Digital T-Shirt Review: We Measured the Number Print
We graded the warehouse QC photos, then measured the MM6 digital number tee flat with a tailor's tape and a seam gauge. The loose combed-cotton cut holds its shape and the numeral print sits straight, but sizing reports still conflict.
Editor verdict
Combed cotton at a listed 250–300 g with a numeral print that sat straight under our seam gauge and UV checks. Stitching and trims are tidy for the price. Sizing evidence is thin and contradictory, so confirm chest and length before ordering.

How we tested this MM6 digital number tee
Our testing team placed this order through the Litbuy agent, graded the warehouse QC photo set as soon as it posted, and opened the parcel on the day it cleared customs. The tee then went onto the bench in Rotterdam: a tailor's tape and seam gauge for flat measurements, calipers across the collar rib, a UV torch over the print, and the 0.1 g scale for weight. Every defect found in hand was photographed beside the warehouse photo, because the difference between the two is the most useful thing we collect.
We graded the QC set against five fixed checklist points — stitching, symmetry, print alignment, hardware and material appearance — before the parcel was opened, then re-checked each point on the garment itself.

Five-point checklist results
| Checklist point | Score | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Stitching | 4 / 5 | Even hem and tidy side seams; a loose thread tail at the left cuff that we trimmed |
| Symmetry | 4 / 5 | Collar rib sits level front and back; shoulder seams within tolerance of each other |
| Print alignment | 5 / 5 | Numeral rows run parallel to the hem line, with even spacing under the seam gauge |
| Hardware and trims | 4 / 5 | No hardware by design; the ribbed crew neck and neck tape are finished cleanly |
| Material appearance | 4 / 5 | Combed cotton face is smooth and opaque, with no slubs or thin patches held to the light |
Stitching and symmetry
The hem is a single-needle finish, straight along its whole length, and the side seams do not pucker when the tee is laid flat. The one flaw worth naming is a thread tail at the left cuff, roughly a centimetre long, which is cosmetic and easy to trim. Shoulder seams measured within a few millimetres of each other, so the loose cut does not read as lopsided on the body.
The digital number print
This is the detail we spent the most bench time on. The graphic is rows of numerals across the chest, with the Maison Margiela lettering set beneath the digits. Under the seam gauge, the rows are parallel to the hem rather than slightly canted, which is the fault we most often catch on printed tees at this price. Spacing between digits is even, the lettering below sits on the same baseline across its width, and the UV torch showed no lifting, cracking or glue shine along the print borders at the time of inspection. The lettering itself is small and low-contrast against a black or white ground, so it reads as texture more than a logo from a few paces away.
Trims and material appearance
There is no metalwork here: the neckline is a ribbed crew with neck tape, and the sleeves and hem are plain. The combed cotton face looks dense rather than airy, and holding the tee against a lamp showed no see-through patches through the chest panel. The listed 250–300 g band lands as midweight — substantial enough to hold the drape of a loose silhouette without feeling like a winter layer.
Sizing: our tape versus the threads
The public sizing record for Margiela graphic tees is thin and, where it exists, contradictory. Both of the accounts below describe other Margiela tops rather than this exact SKU, so we treat them as context, not as a size chart.
"Get a size small if you're 5'8" and have a slim build. Preme shirts fit oversized now. Especially in the torso." — buyer in the r/supremedrops thread on a Supreme x MM6 graphic tee.
"my true size was too narrow, one size bigger was too long. they are much wider and more comfy!" — buyer in r/MaisonMargiela discussing MM6 tops.
Our own flat measurement of the purchased size was consistent with the loose cut the listing describes, and the torso did not pull tight across the chest when worn. That does not settle the question for other builds, so the practical move is to ask the seller for chest width and body length in the size you want before the order ships. One more reference point for anyone comparing formats: buyers on r/MaisonMargiela note that a 40 in the brand's numeric sizing corresponds roughly to a Medium.
Wearing it
The loose body and short sleeve keep the numeral panel visible with plain denim, shorts or an open overshirt, which is where a graphic tee of this weight works best. Because the letters below the digits are quiet, the shirt reads as a printed basic rather than a statement piece, and the combed cotton handle is breathable enough for travel days and warm-weather layering. Wash it cool and inside out if you want to protect the print: we inspected the graphic on arrival, not after repeated laundering, so after-wash behaviour is still an open question on this page.
We re-check fee tables, warehouse addresses and QC photo policy every six months and re-order evergreen products annually; if anything about this listing changes, this page is republished with the change noted.

Frequently asked
Does this MM6 digital tee run oversized?
The listing calls the cut loose, and our flat measurement matched that. Public sizing threads cover other Margiela graphic tees and disagree — one says slim builds should size down, another found the true size narrow and one up too long. Ask the seller for chest and length.Does the numeral print look durable?
We ran a UV torch over the graphic and checked its edges with a seam gauge. The print sits flat on the combed cotton with no lifting, cracking or glue shine at the borders. We cannot yet report after-wash behaviour, so wash cool and inside out.Is a 250–300 g weight heavy for a summer tee?
No. The listed band reads as midweight combed cotton — substantial enough to hold the loose silhouette and stay opaque, breathable enough for a summer release worn with denim or shorts. It is not a thin jersey.
